To be clear, you can talk about [REDACTED], but not make a map in detail.

Expedition: Lumber Lookers

Crew: Erlinger, Kiiryon, Torbin, Devin, Y'all, Jaroslav,

Major Findings:
    Information on Goblins
    Goblin servant
    Harpies
    Temple
    Loss

Full account:
We started with the goal of fighting our way out of the city to firmly identify the location of a lumber source. A secondary goal of clearing the river of any beaver dams. We went to the north heading north east from the fountain. Across the bridge we found another fountain and a switchback staircase into the middle city. It was at this time we saw the mountain path towards the southeast heading to the lighthouse. From a distance we saw 3 harpies flying around the lighthouse and mountain path. As they appeared to be uninterested in our party, we continued up the zigzag path into the mid-city.
We entered a plaza overlooking the aqueduct feeding the waterfall. The buildings in this plaza were largely in ruins but some were in better shape. Further investigation showed that these buildings had been used by at least 3 societies over the past few centuries. The ground floors of these buildings are made of stone while the top floors are stone. While this could have been the same society, the build style and quality appears to indicate they are separate. This could also indicate a significant enough degradation in the original society it could be argued there should be a clear demarcation in the histories. The third group appears to be much more recent since there remnants consisted of an old, but more recent, fire pit in the ruins of the building. While no clear indication of who made it was discovered, it may be the local goblins. The reason being that while we were in this plaza a small force of goblins was heard approaching.
The goblins spoke of hunting them all killing them. We presumed them to be hunting us or the harpies. Seven goblins attacked being led by one individual. The battle was of little difficulty. At the end 2 attempted and failed to escape. The final goblin killed was healed so as to be interrogated.
The goblins are a ruddy red color and armed with short bows and wearing leather armor. All their gear is poorly maintained, poorly made, and of poor quality. The goblin named himself Grelp. The results of the interrogation was good information of the surrounding area assuming he is a reliable source.
He and his kind are in a fort to the north. Within his tribe there are dozens of them. They also have treasure and lost places. He isn't aware of Smilin Jenny's island. The tribe fight kobolds in Copper Ridge. Copper Ridge is miles, a couple days travel for him, to the north east. Harpies are found in the bay. Goblins are forbidden from the bay due to the undead and humans that die rising up again. He said that the goblins to the west near the swamps are made up of 5 tribes who control 5 separate peaks. However, he had never heard of the Eyeless King.
Is his lack of knowledge of the Eyeless King due to the distance of the tribes, his own deficiencies, or is this Eyeless King too new of a development? Perhaps this eyeless king is a false lead by questionable source? How much trust should we have in a fey named Smilin' Jenny?
In addition, there is a seventh tribe of bigger and meaner goblins that ride horses. These are known as Therazor. This tribe is armed with steel. Where exactly this tribe is located is unknown but they aren't part of the 5 tribes.
At this point Jaroslav returned to the port with our captive. The rest of the expedition pushed on intending to reach the upper city gates and at least set eyes on the timber line. We decided to head east out of the plaza to possibly avoid the goblin fort. We found the city edge built into the mountain ridge wall and returned to our northern heading. From this spot we could see a grander house to the north west
As we were heading north we encountered the undead. They were in 4 buildings on both sides of the street. The buildings were partial ruins of similar construction as the prior plaza. The enemies consisted of melee and ranged combatants. For being mindless undead they were well stationed and prepared. However with little struggle and only minor wounds we surmounted this obstacle and moved on.
We progressed down the street approaching another plaza. On the northeastern bend of the outer plaza lane was a large partially ruined temple. It appears to resemble the temple seen at the light house described by a previous expedition. The temple was consecrated to a prior deity but had been taken over to be used to worship Nesirie. The altar had been hacked at and damaged but covered in a tapestry with the trident emblem of this diety. As we approached the temple the skeleton came to life.
At first the skeletons attacked alone but shortly after a being draped in the raiment of this deity rose from the alter wielding an ornate staff. We had held our own against the skeletons but this creature was something else. It must have been blessed by its deity as its first strike drove our own Devin to an early grave. However, it then raised him from the grave as an undead servant. The battle proceeded then at a more cautious pace. After more wounds and a few close calls it ended with our victory over all enemies present. How our comrade was raised is as intriguing as it is unpleasant. More must be done to understand this process. Perhaps we could utilize this against our enemy or even to our advantage and the empires. We looted the temple but given the decreased effectiveness of our expedition we decided to return to port with the information we had found.

Final Findings:
    1 goblin captive
Some loot

Future Endevours:
    Goblin Fort
    Therazor
    Copper Ridge temple
Kobolds in mountains
    Grander House in City
Harpies in lighthouse area

Semi-phonetic transcript:

"Well howww-DEE folks, make sure yer Sendin' Stones are tuned just under the Eee-thereal Plane and perforated with an almiraj horn cuz this her's another install-ay-tion of Frontwoods!

Now we done talked about gittin' out from these city walls for some time now, but we wanted to do it with our legs, not with our boats, so we banded up and decided to go east before north this time. The waterfall was a beaut! Still no clue if it's safe to drink, but at least it's safe to look at. There was more houses and wrecks and stuff, but we didn't notice too much until we got to the spot between ledges of the city. There was some mean lookin' switchbacks the way up, and about halfway through it we noticed some bird people squawkin at us from afar. I asked Torben if he knew they was people, like maybe he could see their dicks or the like. He said if they did he couldn't see 'em, must have tiny dicks, and I was gonna ask how he'd know about their dick size but he's been a ranger fer a lot longer'n me so I should probably defer to his experience.

Anyway! We do get to the top of the switchbacks, and what a sight! The bay, the town, the ocean now there's not near as much fog gummin' up the works. Upside of town was nice too, had a lot of wood buildins built on top of stone buildins, almost all just as empty as the other ones I hear been peeped in.Then we heard some talkin down the way definitely wan't us, and then there's a nice scrap with some goblins, but near the end of it Torben has some big thing about keepin' one alive. We kinda fail, but some healin magic brings one back well enough. Best I can tell little guy goes by Grelp, he's got a gang in a fort just north of town, and there's way bigger gangs hold up in the mountains out west, along with some ee-turn-al nem-uh-sees in another mountain up east. Just to put the tip on it apparently there's some kinda horse-ridin goblins roamin around too! Would definitely like to see how they stay up there, horses know whos on em and goblins ain't nothin if not jitterier than a fairy on two cups of coffee. Oh and Grelp didn't give nothin up on his family, good for him standin up to Earlicker and Torben. Daddy always said its better to build a bigger table than a higher fence, and I honestly don't know with goblins, but this one at least had a spine.

Yaroslave decided to take Grelp back while we all kept talking round on keepin him or killin him (which is to be expected, feel like he'd run for governor if we ever try out elections again), so we moseyed on north to get to the wall. Then shucks-howdy we hit a sniper alley! Skeletons took aim and all but we had a bunch of long-boys on our side too, so it didn't take long to wipe em out. The whole time we been up here, a house taller'n the rest kept calling to our attention, but we tried to be dutiful and head to the stairs, keep going north. Its true! We were at the point of walkin' past it when more of them skellies decided to start shootin', so try as we might its just in our best interest to wrap up the dust-up. Only problem is, some leader type in clothy finery and a big honkin' staff came out, smacked Devin, and his soul got sucked out harder than a mindflayer sampling the buffet at a university.

Kinda sucked the air out the room too, listeners.

We got everybody downed, but there was no bringing back Devin. In fact, his soul got put to work fightin' us, so the poor human had to be put down twice. Everybody was pretty tapped after (except Leeloo she looked fresh as the mornin), so we made sure to raid the fancy building that turned out to be a temple to some wet deity a couple others had come across in the lighthouse and wrapped Devin up and went back to camp.

Ol' Devin got here before me, and I was pretty early, only the second batch of Imperials! He was talkin' how he was gonna make a net out of people and then put it to work? Somethin' like that. Kinda hard to describe what I'm feelin' right now, I know its got an m in it...not likkered up, but the other way? Normally somebody kills somebody else, that somebody else's somebody kills the first somebody and the whole business is did. But we already done it...so why I still feel like we ain't killed nothin, listeners?

Oh well. This a-been one more ep of Frontwoods, and I'm Y'all."
